  24. OK, folks, the next release is almost ready and should go out on
  25. schedule tonight or tomorrow morning.  This is the last call for
  26. any submissions or bug fixes that you might have forgot to send
  27. in.  If I get them soon enough, I might still be able to get them
  28. into the kit.

  30. I have not yet had time to break up the main library, but it looks
  31. like the concensus has it that we should break it into three parts:
  32.  
  33. (1) MiscString (non AppKit stuff)
  34. (2) non-AppKit reliant objects and code
  35. (3) AppKit reliant objects and code
  36.  
  37. Note that some objects could be (2) but have some of (3) in them.
  38. In those cases, I will have to split the object into a base object
  39. for (2) and then a category that will go in (3).  If you have
  40. submitted such an object and have time to split the code up
  41. yourself, please do so and send it to me.

  43. This split will take a while to do, but should happen for the
  44. next release after this one.  As to PB.project library projects,
  45. the _main_ MiscKit lib does not yet use PB but the sub-libraries
  46. (the Swap and Inspector kits) do use PB.  It seems stable, so I
  47. will move the main library to PB control for the next release
  48. for sure.

  50. Well, so much for that; I'll post a press release here and details
  51. of what's new as soon as I finish uploading MiscKit 1.2.7.
